NBA Fans were left laughing after Kyrie Irving’s pre-game routine at the Brooklyn Nets were revealed on Wednesday. According to Dzanan Musa, Irving’s then teammate, Irving wouldn’t let everyone in at the locker room until he was done with his “rituals.”

And much to the Nets’ surprise, Irving’s antics involve burning sage, “until he drove away the evil spirits,” as Musa said. When NBA Fans heard of this unique news, they immediately poked fun at it.

User @joshegbuna claimed that the rituals are a way of Irving’s struggle against spirits. The spirits, however, is as alive as the Nets’ owner. They wrote, “He was fighting spiritual battles with Joe Tsai I feel him.”

User @bklnfin3st, on the other hand, believes Irving is fighting for the wrong seasons, remarking, “What battle was that? Cashing a check and not showing up to work?” which some NBA Fans feel it crossed the line.

In the end, NBA Fans were surprisingly in approval of Irving’s actions. NBA Fans like user @AustinChats claimed that it is indeed a struggle when you’re under the Nets’ management.

Theywrote, “If Joe Tsai and Sean Marks were running my organization I’d be trying to drive away the evil spirits too,” one user wrote, also referring to Marks, the Nets’ GM.

But of course, hilarity is the staple of NBA Fans online, and many more gave their insights on the shocking news.

“If true, that’s the most on-brand Kyrie Irving story ever [crying emoji],” one userwrote.

“If burning sage helped me even achieve a fraction of Kyries skills id do it,” one userremarked.

“I would have walked right into that locker room and kicked all them sages and candles over. FOH,” one userwrote.

NBA Fans continuing to throw shade at Irving

Indeed, many NBA Fans finding Irving’s pre-game sage burning hilarious. However, some Fans couldn’t help but claim that it was those same antics that made him as a problem in the Nets.

User @AlbertS004 believes it was those sages that made Irving’s crucial teammate leave the Nets. They wrote, “I don’t blame James Harden,” claiming that Harden might’ve left the Nets because of the weird rituals.

Meanwhile, user @basicnetsfan revealed how he felt uncomfortable seeing Irving at their favorite team, posting, “Kyrie was the problem in Brooklyn… he’s one of the only nets players that ever made me uncomfortable…I could not justify…antics.”

Irving’s stay at the Nets was indeed filled with controversies, and NBA Fans haven’t forgotten those. From tragic injuries to heated political opinions, Fans remain skeptical that Irving’s time with the Nets is indeed worthwhile.
