NBA Fans pulled no punches this Wednesday after reports of Dalton Knecht going to the LA Lakers for a trade request went viral. Fans, of course, couldn’t help but stand by Knecht’s side as they threw shade on the Lakers for not fully bringing out the potential of the young star.
User @tmofficially on didn’t hesitate and called the Lakers, especially GM Rob Pelinka, for not utilizing Knecht enough, writing, “Dalton demanding a trade proves the Lakers have no idea how to develop young talent anymore. He’s right to want out before Pelinka completely wastes his prime.” He noted that the Lakers haven’t given enough opportunities to youngins like Knecht because of the team’s focus on veteran stars.

Meanwhile, NBA Fans like user @Mike68560734145 wasn’t as shocked anymore on how the Lakers use their players, commenting, “After Phil’s [Phil Jackson] departure, I don’t think I ever considered the lakers a good team at developing talent.” NBA Fans, after all, have saw how the Lakers in the past seasons building a squad around 40-year-old LeBron James, most of them are also veterans.
However, while Fans were left gaping after the Lakers’ finally added a young superstar in Luka Doncic to their team, but this season, this wasn’t enough to make up for their inconsistencies.

Still, NBA Fans remain confused on why Knecht, which many Fans believe has potential, is often absent on games.
“I don’t blame him. Hes been a bucket and gets 0 playing time. Idk what JJ reddicks problem is with bum,” one user wrote.
“He’ll go average 20 points wherever he goes,” one user remarked, believing Knecht will be a star on every team someday.
“Lakers really handling this like they did the AD trade? What’s the endgame here?” one user wrote.

NBA Fans also throw shade at Knecht for his bold request
While NBA Fans are disappointed at the Lakers for not bringing the best of Knecht, some Fans also poked fun at the star, raising how little he is of trade value since he isn’t as popular to the teams.
User @ShoaibAli246758 didn’t hold back and wrote, “Who does he think he is? [crying emoji] Trade him now!” Meanwhile, user @Drpandu31 was shocked on Knecht’s audacity to hope for a trade, commenting, “If true, rookie [or sophomore] demanding a trade from the Lakers is… bold.” User @dannydope, on the other hand, couldn’t believe the Lakers will just let Knecht go without something in return, writing, “Lakers to get Giannis.”
While Knecht’s leaving the Lakers remains inevitable, NBA Fans continue speculating on whether playing for another team will really benefit the rising star.
