LeBron James keeps finding new ways to remind us that age hasn’t caught up to him yet. Still, after the Lakers’ latest win, NBA fans couldn’t help but react to how honest — and hilarious — he was when asked about his availability moving forward.
Following Los Angeles’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans, James was asked if he’d be available for the Lakers’ next game against the San Antonio Spurs. The matchup comes on the second night of a back-to-back, with both games being played on the road.
LeBron didn’t sugarcoat it.
“I’m 41 years old. Every back to back for the rest of the season is TBD,” James said. “I got the most minutes in NBA history… Look at my birth certificate December 30, 1984 4:39pm… When I came out, I slapped the doctor on the ass.”

That was all it took for NBA Twitter to explode.
Some fans leaned straight into the joke. @autistico888 wrote, “he slapped the doctor and then stared down the nurse for 10 seconds.”

Others picked up on the oddly specific details. @drawl joked, “There’s gonna be dudes comparing their birth charts with LeBron now, he gave them the exact time.”
Then there were fans who couldn’t help but appreciate what they’re still watching. @Ocjogp19882 said, “I always has critic for LeBron but bros his catching alley oops at 41. Legendary!”

And the thing is — he backed it up.
In the 111–103 win over New Orleans, James matched Luka Dončić shot for shot. LeBron finished with 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Dončić added 30 of his own as the Lakers pulled away late.
“Unc still got it”: NBA fans react as LeBron James keeps defying age
The conversation around LeBron’s longevity didn’t stop with the postgame quotes.
During the same win over the Pelicans, James looked anything but limited, throwing down dunks and elevating over defenders like it was business as usual. Even at 41, his bounce and strength had fans doing double takes.
@PrizePicks kept it simple: “unc still got it.”

@NSBrooklyn added, “crazy leap from james.”
And @TheCrypticWolf summed up the moment best, saying, “Defying odds at 41.”
At this point, LeBron’s age gets mentioned every night — mostly because it still doesn’t line up with what fans are watching on the court.
