“Yall It’s LeBron’s Fault”: NBA Fans Have LeBron James Catching Strays As Russell Westbrook’s Season Debut Lowlights Go Viral

Russell Westbrook’s season debut didn’t exactly go the way NBA fans expected. Instead of celebrating a fresh start, social media lit up with videos of his missed shots, turnovers, and questionable plays — and somehow, LeBron James still ended up getting blamed.

Clips of Westbrook’s rough performance went viral across X, and NBA fans couldn’t resist making it a LeBron-related storyline.

“KING WESTBROOK,” posted @TheNBACentel, as highlights of his struggles spread online.

Another fan, @Wossy_the_boy, wrote, “Yall it’s LeBron fault,” echoing a familiar theme from the Lakers era where every Westbrook mishap was tied to James.

Others joined the sarcasm. “Yes cause it’s LeBron’s fault that EastBrick lost his talent like he’s starring in Space Jam,” joked @salmoncolorsuit, referencing LeBron’s own movie in a shot that stung twice as hard.

But while the online roasting was merciless, others reminded that Westbrook’s energy and work ethic remain unmatched. Even at 35, he’s still pushing pace and hustling every play — it just doesn’t always translate into wins.

You just can’t escape the sharp eyes of the NBA fans. Just like Russell Westbrook who can’t seem to escape the bad taste LeBron’s left in his mouth. The damage could be lasting and the effort to outrun it may be more than just switching colors.

NBA Fans Bring Up LeBron and the Lakers as Russell Westbrook’s Struggles Resurface

NBA fans aren’t letting go of the LeBron-Westbrook connection anytime soon. After Westbrook’s latest game went viral for all the wrong reasons, old clips and memories from his Los Angeles Lakers stint began resurfacing online.

“2020 LeBron had Russell Westbrook traumatized,” tweeted @KvngDKN, summing up how fans view the ripple effect of their short-lived partnership.

Another comment by @JLewis562 added, “He terrorized Westbrook more as his teammate.” It’s the kind of playful banter that NBA fans thrive on — part humor, part reminder of how messy that Lakers experiment turned out.

The duo’s time together was one of the most scrutinized storylines in recent NBA history. Westbrook, once known for his explosive triple-doubles, struggled to find rhythm beside LeBron, who’s always been the dominant ball-handler.

As @LewisPike_ bluntly put it, “I still don’t get how Rob Pelinka witnessed this and still decided it was a good idea to add Russ on the Lakers roster.”

It isn’t just about bad basketball; it’s about how unforgettable that pairing was. For NBA fans, the LeBron-Westbrook saga remains one of the most talked-about “what ifs” of recent memory — and apparently, still good for a laugh years later.
