NBA fans recently clapped back at veteran star Kevin Durant for his social media post that included an online gambling promotion.
Over at X, NBA fans reacted to veteran star Kevin Durant reposting and promoting an online gambling ad. While a lot of fan reactions did not see any harm in the post, but instead talked about the teams involved, some fans saw it as a “shameless” way of using Durant’s name and reach.
“I’m going with the Lions on Thanksgiving,” Durant captioned his post. “Drop your pick and pass the leg @FDSportsbook.”

“Promoting gambling is shameless man,” one fan said.

Another fan echoed the sentiment in a more elaborate manner, and referencing recent issues that have plagued the league.
“Promoting gambling with gambling sites but NBA players all over crying about gamblers getting on them for ruining their parlay is fuckin hypocritical and pathetic,” one fan said.
Down the comments, more fans have expressed their frustrations in Durant getting involved in online betting promotions.
“How is promoting Gambling ever a good thing?” one fan said. “USA, you are screwed.”
“Durant promoting gambling too,” said another. “It’s never enough for these spoil players.”
Recently, federal authorities have opened two wide-ranging investigations into illegal gambling that, prosecutors say, involve dozens of defendants across a network of gamblers, players, and coaches. The probes allege that some participants ran or took part in rigged poker games and other unlawful betting operations that reached into the NBA community.
Officials say the cases are complex and interwoven, with criminal complaints describing coordinated activity by professional gamblers and associates that prosecutors contend influenced both private games and broader betting schemes.
The investigations have prompted multiple criminal charges and arrests as the government seeks to map the full scope of the alleged operations. Among the most prominent names publicly linked to the inquiries are Portland coach Chauncey Billups, Miami guard Terry Rozier, and former player-coach Damon Jones, who have been arrested in connection with the probes, according to court filings and law-enforcement statements.
NBA Fans Poke Fun at Kevin Durant for Posting Whilst in “Family Matters”
Over at X, NBA fans poked fun at Kevin Durant over his online gambling promotion, given that he recently issued what was supposed to be a game against his former team, over family matters.

“Guess the ‘family matter’ you’re missing game for isn’t that serious if you have time to shill for FanDuel,” one fan said, adding in laughing emojis to the post.
For another fan, an online gambling ad is an indication that everything is okay back at home.
“If he’s posting on Twitter and all then it seems like all is okay at home,” they said.
So far, NBA fans may have to wait a bit longer before Durant faces his former team, the Phoenix Suns.
