NBA fans had their dose of fun comments in light of the news of Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards missing out on future games due to an injury.

Over at X, NBA fans talked about the news of Anthony Edwards getting ruled out of future games due to his injury. The news, in turn, sent NBA fans on a long thread of jokes and fun comments, particularly with how Edwards’ rivalry with Luka Doncic is currently going.

“Still sore from those Luka backshots, I see,” one fan said.

“Is that why Luka is already ruled out for Wednesday?” another fan noted. “Scared to come to MN?”

Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic have been rivals since the 2024-2025 playoffs, when they went head-to-head and Edwards and the Wolves ended up eliminating Doncic and the Lakers from the playoffs.

Since that notorious postseason matchup, there has been clear rivalry between the stars that has continued any time the Wolves and Lakers would play each other, as fans would throw shade and jokes at each player. The most recent example of this happened in the first few games of this current season.

The Los Angeles Lakers reveled in the fact that Doncic sustained a few minor injuries early in the 2025–26 season, including a sprained left finger and a contusion on his lower left leg. These setbacks followed a hot start to the season when Dončić poured in 43 and 49 points in his first two games and broke a 56-year franchise record that Jerry West held.

While not serious injuries, the Lakers wanted Doncic to rest, especially with fellow superstar LeBron James also out, and would be leaning significantly on Austin Reaves and their new acquisitions to keep the steam going.

Doncic’s status was officially downgraded to questionable ahead of the matchup against the Sacramento Kings on October 26.

NBA Fans Joke About Anthony Edwards’ Injury Update

Over at X, NBA fans shared their insights on numerous star players of franchises ruled out due to injury early on in the season.

“This is what the NBA has low in audition, the NBA just starts and we already have LeBron out, Luka out, Ant out,” one fan said.

Some fans, on the other hand, find it weird that a lot of big stars are falling one by one to injury.

“Why is everyone’s hamstring dead,” one noted.

Another one seemed to have a different idea about the reality of these “injuries.”

“Load management talk incoming,” they said.

For now, NBA fans are on the lookout for injury updates from their favorite franchise stars.
