“Nico Is Up there With Bin Laden In The Terrorist Heirarchy”: NBA Fans Feast On Parody Joke About Mavs Re-Hiring Nico Harrison Just To Fire Him Again

Nico Harrison may already be out as the general manager of the Dallas Mavericks, but NBA fans clearly aren’t done with him yet.

If anything, the jokes are just getting louder.

A recent parody post from NBACentel on X sent fans right back into mockery mode after claiming the Mavericks were considering rehiring Harrison — only to fire him again shortly after. It was obviously fake, but that didn’t stop people from running with it.

The timing made it even funnier for some. The post followed news that Anthony Davis had been traded to the Washington Wizards along with Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum in exchange for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, and Marvin Bagley III.

That deal reopened old wounds for NBA fans, especially considering Harrison was the one who originally signed off on the move that sent Luka Dončić out of Dallas for Davis.

    The replies didn’t hold back.

@WestThroneX said, “It sucks that Nico Harrison won’t ever get the full hate he deserves for the trade coz it got them flagg, I promise you Nico is up there with Bin Laden in the terrorist hierarchy.”

@ChrispinAB admitted he almost bought into the parody entirely, saying, “Why am I poised to believe everything Centel says.”

Meanwhile, @DallasSp0rtsFan decided Harrison should just skip Dallas altogether, posting, “I think you meant the Lakers are expected to hire Nico Harrison.”

Beyond the players involved, the Mavericks also picked up a 2026 first-round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder, a protected 2030 first-rounder from the Golden State Warriors, plus second-round picks in 2026 from the Phoenix Suns, 2027 from the Chicago Bulls, and 2029 from the Houston Rockets.

That haul hasn’t done much to cool the backlash.

“Nico Harrison has ruined the Mavs franchise”: NBA fans continue to fuel their hate on former Dallas Mavericks GM

Even after his exit, Harrison’s name keeps popping up online, mostly as a punching bag. The frustration traces back to the Anthony Davis gamble, which never really got off the ground.

Davis appeared in just 31 games during his time with Dallas due to injuries, leaving NBA fans feeling like the Dončić trade never had a real chance to pay off.

    The reactions stayed blunt.

@AL_mansour__ said, “Nico Harrison has ruined the Mavs franchise.”

@PeterMo18769876 added, “and redefined some of the besf quotes ever – ‘defense wins championships’, ‘fortune favors the bold.’”

And @jblazetradingco took it a step further, warning, “hopefully Nico has moved out of Dallas.”

Harrison may be gone, but for NBA fans, the fallout from his decisions is clearly still very much alive.
