NBA fans refuse to accept that the recent almost-buzzer-beater shot of Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson is on the same level as the iconic jump shot of Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals.
A post on X by SportsCenter showed an edit that put the two shots of A’ja Wilson and Michael Jordan, which some fans likened in impact and level of hype. However, some NBA fans disagree with the comparison.

“Yeah but, the whole world watched one shot,” one fan said, hinting that Wilson’s shot was underwhelming compared to Jordan’s. “About 2500 people saw her do this. Not even close bruh lol.”

The comment did not go unanswered, as other fans pointed out the flaw in the numbers referring to viewership.
“Over 18,000 in attendance and many more watching on TV,” one said. “ It’s okay, you can admit you’re just reflecting on your own irrelevance and lack of importance.”
Michael Jordan‘s last-second jump shot in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals will forever stand as a testament to Jordan’s astounding talent and legacy. The play started with a quick crossover dribble against Bryon Russell, followed by Jordan pulling up and knocking down a 20-foot jump shot to put the Bulls ahead 87–86 with 5.2 seconds to go.
A’ja Wilson’s go-ahead shot in Game 3 of the 2025 WNBA Finals was much different. After dominating with 34 points and 14 rebounds, and after facing a late rally by the Phoenix Mercury, Wilson was entered with the ball, turned over two defenders, and latched onto a jumper with 0.3 seconds to go. This ended up giving the Aces a 90–88 win and a 3–0 series lead.
NBA Fans React to A’ja Wilson Jump Shot
NBA fans, on social media platform X, reacted to the recent viral moment of A’ja Wilson during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals being compared to Michael Jordan’s iconic 1998 NBA Finals shot.

One fan said:
“Don’t ever compare when there is literally a Jordan of ur sport on Indiana and wasn’t even playing when they almost knocked out Aja in final deciding game.”
“This so why the W is so hated on,” another said. “The comparison between leagues is so unfair to it. Let it be its own thing. This obviously isn’t close to the same thing.”
