NBA fans gave their honest reaction to the Congress getting involved in the issue of alleged gambling scandal in the league, which involved names of coaches and players, among other members of a growing list.
Over at social media platform X, NBA fans reacted to the news of a Congressional committee meeting with officials from the NBA. This came following the indictment of Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami heat guard Terry Rozier, and former coach Damion Jones.

One fan reacted to the news, and pointed out how the controversy involving the Dallas Mavericks seems to have been ignored.
“But, they ignore the Mavs winning the draft lottery after trading Luka,” the fan said, adding a crying emoji to their post.

Another fan called for a different matter, which involved a closer look at the league commissioner himself.
“Investigate Adam Silver too,” the fan said.
Members of a House committee met with NBA officials in Washington, D.C., to discuss the federal probe that led to 34 arrests and looming indictments tied to an alleged gambling ring that implicated figures including Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups and Damon Jones.
The league’s internal review had previously cleared Rozier, a decision that congressional members pressed NBA leadership to explain after prosecutors and the FBI revealed wider details of the investigation in Brooklyn.
Lawmakers on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and other congressional offices wrote to Commissioner Adam Silver seeking greater transparency about the NBA’s handling of the matters, including why Rozier was cleared despite reporting that suggested the league had opened its own inquiry.

For some, this could be the time that the league would be held accountable for things that have been happening behind the scenes over the years.
“Looks like Congress is finally getting involved with the NBA’s dirty laundry,” one said. “Chauncey Billups, Terry Rozier, and Damon Jones caught up in the mess? Time to ask: is the NBA finally getting held accountable for what’s happening behind the scenes?”

As the investigation continues, NBA fans are on the lookout for how this scandal will fully unfold.
