The seeds of legacy has been planted. LeBron James has again shown that basketball is in his blood with his youngest son, Bryce, recently spotted by NBA Fans in his baller kits. Although what got the attention was his kicks. LBJ already has his own line of shoes, but Bryce was stepping in Kobe Bryant sneakers instead.
A clip of Bryce wearing the Kobe 6 “Reverse Grinch” shoes during a basketball workout spread across X (formerly Twitter), with NBA fans cracking jokes about the subtle shade toward his father.

The public can’t help but meme this out of proportion. @JustEd43 joked,
“Even he doesn’t like his dad’s shoes,”

while @BleacherReport captioned the clip with,
“Bryce James wasted no time hitting the ‘6 7’ emote.”
Another fan, @cortez_coleman, chimed in, saying,
“He look more like LeBron than LeBron does.”
Although, NBA fans can understand it at some degree. You’re the son of one of the biggest names in the sport. And every single one of those aspiring players wants their own name in lights one day. But the added burden of not just slipping into your father’s shoes, pun intended, but also the added weight of stepping out of the shadows of your bloodline makes surviving in the same field difficult.
Still, the visual of Bryce wearing Kobe shoes instead of LeBron’s added fuel to the internet’s favorite pastime—poking fun at anything remotely connected to the James family.
NBA Fans React as 40-Year-Old LeBron James Shows He Still Has It
The old cliche that age is just a number has been getting more and more disproven over the years with world-class athletes still rocking at the top of their careers despite being older than the average and reaching retirement age. NBA fans added LeBron James to that list.

@Naylor408 posted the video with the caption,
“LeBron James isolation defense in year 22, age 40,” and NBA fans were quick to jump in.

One user, @ns6yo, commented,
“He can get it done on both ends of the floor STILL,”
while @BuiltDifferentP added,
“Unc still got it.”
Even as debates about his “greatest of all time” status continue, clips like this remind NBA fans why LeBron remains one of the sport’s most respected figures. His ability to perform at a high level at 40 is something few in the NBA’s history have achieved.

Whether it’s his son Bryce making headlines for his sneaker choices or LeBron showing that his competitive fire still burns bright, the James family continues to give NBA fans something to talk about—on and off the court.
