NBA fans are having a field day trolling Russell Westbrook after it was announced that the veteran player has signed with the Sacramento Kings for the upcoming season. Westbrook has chosen jersey no. 18 for his new contract with Sacramento and seems excited to play for his new crew this year.

Meanwhile, fans are not too thrilled about Westbrook signing with Sacramento, especially since the veteran has not proven himself on the court as of late. Many joke that the player’s numbers will be equal to his own jersey number and that it is nothing but a manifestation of his performance this season. Russell Westbrook reacted to the news post of him singing with the Kings on X, by sharing a caption of his own, for which he was immensely trolled.
“LIGHT THE BEAM #whynot” Russell Westbrook tweeted.

“light the bricks!” One fan reacted to Westbrook’s caption.
“about to ruin another franchise (crying emoji, clapping emoji)” Another fan added.
“Russ, when I lived in L.A. you came and ruined my Lakers. Now I live in Sactown and you’ve come to ruin my Kings. Can’t you go play in Europe or China, or something, please? You can still be a star in those places.” One more fan sorrowfully commented.
NBA Fans Also Show Support For Russell Westbrook After Kings Signing
While NBA fans did show their share of trolling for Russell Westbrook in the comments section, there was also another majority who were truly happy to have the talented point guard play for the Kings in this new season.

“Remind these people Who you are dawg” An excited fan commented.

“REVENGE SEASON BRODIE SHOW THEM WHO YOU ARREEEEEEE” Another fan stated.
“HOF career! Despite all the politics and noise that is the NBA, seeing you always put the love of the game first is amazing. Absolute legend, well done.” One more fan added.
Russell Westbrook may be a veteran, but is still a delightfully talented player who has plenty of potential. Westbrook himself seems excited to take as many roles as he can for his new team when asked about his signing.

“Whatever is asked of me, whatever I need to do that night, I’ll do it.” Russell Westbrook said.
The player also gave gratitude to the team for giving him the ability to play in the league, while also assuring that he will do everything in his power to put up plays every time he goes out there on the court.
