There are many kinds of internet influencers, from brand makers, skill showers, and laugh farmers. But the NBA fans have already categorized Russell Westbrook as meme-worthy.

Russell Westbrook on potentially retiring after this season:

    “Yeah right.” 😭

This happened when a reporter asked Westbrook if he’s thought about retiring after this season. His response? Courtesy of a clip from @LegionHoops: a quick smirk, the shoulder drop, and two simple words:

    “Yeah right.”

This was exactly the simple split-second movement that people could use as a perfect response to anything.

Then a response with an alternate angle from @tavwrld_,

and now we have a “new Russ meme unlocked.”

A new meme that we can sprinkle into our conversations and show how we really feel when we feel nothing. The best way to show unbothered with style. And the fact that this has caught the attention of the crowd it may stick as a proper response.

    @burnaboi_ even joked that

“He a better meme maker than basketball player atp.”

Donning the new colors under the King’s banner, Westbrook has his work cut out to get the NBA fans back on his good side, and not just the funny side of things. He has already made so many individual achievements that make him stand out as a top performer. The only thing really missing is a ring.

The internet never forgets. And while his other NBA goals are still elusive, he’s on his way to cementing his ageless memes into the annals of internet history. The NBA fans won’t let him forget soon.

NBA Fans React To Russell Westbrook’s Unshaken Confidence After Joining Kings

Even as he settles into Sacramento, Russell Westbrook hasn’t lost that signature edge. When asked about his mindset this season, the veteran guard made his message clear:

“The chip has always been on my shoulder and it won’t go nowhere until I’m done playing,” shared by @PMasih007.

It was pure Russ—confident, focused, and unapologetically himself. NBA fans immediately responded, praising his resilience while others reminded him that success now depends on how well he blends with his new teammates.

    One fan, @ddpage369, commented,

“Stay humble with your Starting-5 though. Save that energy for the opponent.”

User @MrTerrific_ summed up what many felt:

“Russ is really a fukin king bro its a blessing.” It’s that blend of raw energy and authenticity that keeps him among the league’s most talked-about players.

If Sacramento needed a spark of belief and fire, they got it. Westbrook’s not done, not slowing down, and definitely not retiring anytime soon.
