“So Why Did He Call Kevin Durant From The Parking Lot Crying?”: NBA Fans Debunk Draymond Green’s Clapback One Kevin Durant’s Claim That Offense Wins Championships

NBA fans are having mixed reactions to Draymond Green’s comments on what Kevin Durant said in Netflix’s ‘Starting 5’ series. Durant earlier remarked that the offense of a team is the most important aspect for winning a championship. Durant’s words clearly stirred the pot, and defensive players like Green have clearly not forgotten this.

In Green’s latest interview with Sam Amick, the player called out KD’s remarks and highlighted the incredible defenses of championship-winning teams. However, not all fans felt the same way, with many mocking Green for his take.

“Those who don’t believe defense is as valuable as it is, they simply just don’t win. I don’t think anyone’s ever really been hell-bent on caring about the opinion of those that don’t win, because your opinion equals zero.” Draymond Green said.

“so why did he call @KDTrey5 from the parking lot crying and begging him to join the Warriors after 2016? why couldn’t the ‘incredible defense’ stop Bron and Kyrie from lighting them up for 3 games straight?” one fan said.

“Draymond acting like he was more important than KD to the Warriors ’17 and ’18 rings” another fan trolled.

“They were 11th in 2018, so ‘incredible’ is a bit extreme. Slightly above average I would say. The other year they won with Kevin Durant they were 2nd, but again it’s a mixed bag. Great offense is unstoppable in basketball, no matter the defense.” another fan pointed out.

Kevin Durant is yet to respond to Draymond Green’s statements about defense being equally or more important than offense in a team. At the same time, there were several fans who felt that Green was being a little too arrogant of his own contributions to the team’s defense.

NBA Fans Also Agree With Draymond Green’s Remarks

Many NBA fans may have gotten irked as a result of Draymond Green’s comments, but several came forward to agree with him. Of course, this may be a lasting debate with ballers and their fans, as to if offense or defense was more important for a team.

“Gave y’all two championships btw” one fan said.

“I mean he’s right” another fan echoed.

“Offense wins games but defense wins champions” yet another fan added.

Meanwhile, many feel that the relationship between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant itself might be pretty strained. It still stands to say as to what Durant will have to state in his retort after Green’s remarks.
