With Victor Wembanyama finally back to full health, NBA fans are buzzing about what’s ahead — though not without getting a few laughs in first.
Earlier this week, the NBA Memes X account resurfaced a clip from the 2025 All-Star Weekend showing Wemby meeting the iconic Muggsy Bogues. The courtside moment turned into instant comedy gold thanks to the glaring height gap between the 7-foot-6 giant and the 5-foot-3 legend.

“Bros look like Gandalf and a hobbit.”
“Muggsy was teammates with Manute Bol. He’s used to this.”
Fast forward to October, and Wemby’s doing less joking and more dominating. After sitting out months with deep vein thrombosis, the 20-year-old made his return for the San Antonio Spurs — and it didn’t take long to remind everyone what he’s capable of.
“MVP season”: NBA fans fired up after Wemby’s huge preseason outing
In his first game back, Wembanyama dropped a monster stat line — 27 points and 11 rebounds in just 25 minutes — powering the Spurs to a 124–108 win over the Indiana Pacers, last year’s NBA finalists.

That was all fans needed to start the MVP chatter.

“This is the Wemby I envisioned! Not just using his height for an advantage, but playing with force and power.”
“Our future is so secure, I’m so happy.”

For Spurs fans, this version of Wemby feels like the real deal — stronger, more assertive, and clearly motivated. The way he’s moving, it’s not just about potential anymore; it’s about presence.
If this preseason performance is any preview, San Antonio might be on the verge of something special — and Wemby could be gearing up for the kind of season people have been waiting for since draft night.
