NBA fans have discussed possible trade ideas for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, including the New York Knicks, which was recently floated on a potential destination.

Recently, some fans are doubting whether such a dream deal with Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is even possible, given where the Knicks are positioned right now. Over at X, social media users and NBA fans have discussed why, despite the idea of a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to the New York Knicks sounding good, it is ultimately impossible.

“Every financial restriction known to mankind,” one fan said, in response to the question of what’s keeping a dream team with Antetokounmpo in the Knicks from happening.

Giannis Antetokounmpo explored the possibility of leaving the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason and reportedly identified the New York Knicks as his preferred destination, prompting preliminary trade conversations that ultimately produced little traction before the season began.

The Knicks’ roster construction and recent trades complicate any potential deal: New York has few tradable first‑round assets after acquiring Karl‑Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges, and moving the veterans they acquired would create salary and fit challenges that make matching Milwaukee’s likely asking price difficult.

NBA Fans Speculate on “What If” Giannis Trade Scenario

Over at social media platform X, NBA fans have speculated on potential scenarios should Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo have gone to the New York Knicks in a blockbuster trade deal.

For one fan, the fact that the Bucks star has considered going to the Knicks speaks volumes on the real status of the NBA now:

“If Giannis seriously only considered the Knicks, doesn’t that expose how pathetic the rest of the NBA is right now? New York needs to stop being half-in on superstars go all in next time instead of debating whether you’re worth a max.”

For another, a Giannis team-up with Knicks stars RJ Barrett and Julius Randle may be something that any NBA fan would like to witness, but the reality is that the Bucks had already built a team around him.

“Honestly, imagine Giannis teaming up with RJ Barrett and Julius Randle on the Knicks, that would be insane. But come on, the Knicks fans acting like they’re the only option for Giannis is a little much. Let’s be real, Giannis is all about winning, and the Bucks have built something solid around him.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to play his 13th season with the Bucks, and NBA fans are looking forward to what he can achieve with another year on the team.
