The Milwaukee Bucks lost their eighth game of the year on Sunday against the Boston Celtics, 113-107, falling to a 2-8 record to start their 2024-25 NBA season. Milwaukee gave it their all, behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s big scoring night. However, it wasn’t enough to beat the Celtics.

Antetokounmpo led the team with 43 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. The All-Star forward was aggressive on the offensive end as he attempted 29 shots from the field and made 18. However, he was the only player to score more than 20 points.

The other team star, Damian Lillard, only contributed 14 points and six assists. Lillard didn’t have the best night shooting the basketball, shooting a lowly 26.7 % from the field, including a disappointing 1-for-8 performance from deep. The other players who scored more than ten points are Bobby Portis Jr. and AJ Green, who had 15 and 12, respectively.

The Greek Freak and his squad dominated the Celtics in points in the paint and second-chance points. Milwaukee had 42 points in the paint while Boston had 26. In second-chance points, the defending NBA champions only had seven, while the 2021 champs had 14.

The Bucks dominated most of the game and once held a 17-point advantage. However, the Celtics caught up to them in the third period. In the final moments of the fourth quarter, Boston took control of the game, earning their ninth win of the year.

NBA fans call for a coaching change for the Bucks following another loss

Bucks fans weren’t happy with the most recent loss the team suffered. Milwaukee couldn’t hold on even though they controlled the game for the opening three quarters. Fans went on X (formerly Twitter), to air their frustration over the coaching staff, specifically head coach Doc Rivers.

“Coach is gone soon,” a fan commented.

“Fire the coaching staff and trade Giannis Dame Khris Lopez.”

“Get rid of Doc do it tonight,” a fan suggested the organization to move on from Rivers.

“Idk how they thought they were gonna contend with Darvin “Salute” Ham and Doc “Bin Laden” Rivers on their bench.”

    “Doc needs a second opinion.”

“AND HE’S NOT EVEN A DOCTOR!!!”

“Doc Rivers + the roster around Giannis and Dame are the problem.”

“Fired both Budenholzer and Griffin for NO REASON! Rivers is a choke artist and never wins the big games. Bucks front office got to be better.”

“Never forget this was the Bucks when they hired Doc Rivers.”

“How more games til Doc is fired?”

“Lmaoo fire the coaching staff already.”

On Tuesday, the Bucks will play the Toronto Raptors in an attempt to win their third game of the year.
