“Who Would Even Want A 5-Foot-10 Inefficient Guard?”: NBA Fans Question Trae Young’s True Value As Trade Rumors Explode After Shams Charania Bombshell

NBA Fans are on edge right now as trade rumors surrounding Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young have just become heated on Monday. On X/Twitter, ESPN analyst Shams Charania reported that Young’s agents have been in talks with the Hawks in hopes of securing a trade.

However, some NBA Fans deeply question whether Young, a four-time NBA All-Star, is indeed worth the trade value.

One user, @Asensii20, commented, “Who would even want a 5 foot 10 inefficient guard?” They aren’t alone in offering barbs towards Young, as the user @FeelLikeDrew also remarked, “Who even needs a PG rn and what is his value.”

Meanwhile, another user wrote, “can’t believe the hawks could’ve had Luka and they fumbled,” bringing up how the Hawks had traded their highest pick to the Dallas Mavericks, which had the Slovenian prodigy Luka Doncic, for the fifth overall, which they used to pick Young.

Despite the MCL injury he suffered in October, Young continues to contribute to the Hawks’ star power, which had been shockingly futile as his presence on the court since his return on December 18 has brought five consecutive losses to his team. In fact, in Young’s last game against the Knicks on December 27, he scored only nine points in 31 minutes, which resulted in a quadriceps injury that has sidelined him.

Ever since, the Young-less Hawks are now 17-21 in the East, suffering from back-to-back losses against the Toronto Raptors. All the reasons for the NBA Fans to believe that the star needs a fresh team to work with.

NBA Fans speculate the perfect teams for Trae Young to join with

Meanwhile, at the same X post, many NBA Fans have been chiming in on what could be Young’s future team if the trade talks go on. Many users have voted for the Los Angeles Lakers, with the user @BronMuse even making a hypothetical starting lineup if Young does land there, consisting of him, LeBron James, Doncic, Austin Reaves, and DeAndre Ayton.

One user, @LakeShowYo, even considered trading a particular Laker away, writing, “Gabe Vincent PACK YOUR BAGS.”

“lakers about to be stacked,” one page remarked.

“I know Lakers are about to have a field day with this rumor,” one page commented.

However, while NBA Fans have rooted for the Lakers, some decide to go the other way by raising teams such as the Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors, and even the Boston Celtics for Young. All of them argue that these teams needed a point guard who can handle the ball for them, which they believe the Hawks cannot bring out of their star anymore.
