It’s 2026, but NBA fans still haven’t let go of one of the league’s most unintentionally hilarious moments.
When @SportsSeason asked X users to name the funniest thing an NBA player has ever done, the replies quickly circled back to Gradey Dick and Anthony Black’s now-infamous jersey swap from March 2024. After Toronto’s 111–96 win over Orlando, the two rookies met at center court and exchanged jerseys in what seemed like a harmless postgame gesture.
Instead, it turned into one of the most viral NBA moments of the year — largely because of the unfortunate (and very internet-ready) wording created by their names stitched across the back.
Nearly two years later, fans are still laughing.

@LakerLukaSZN77 joked, “I need a Gradey Dick Jersey swap with Javon Small.”

@banch4fmvp wasn’t buying the innocence, saying, “Look at them they knew what they were doing.”
@SleeperWarriors leaned into the long game: “They had been waiting for that day since AAU.”
After the clip took off, Dick later said he’d limit jersey swaps to close friends around the league. Not long after, reports surfaced that the NBA planned to crack down on postgame jersey exchanges, with stricter protocols expected starting in the 2025–26 season.
“Anything that LeBron does”: NBA fans rank their funniest moments in the league
The Dick–Black moment was just one entry in a much bigger list as fans kept naming their favorite comedic moments in league history.

@KBucks007 didn’t hesitate, writing, “Anything that LeBron does cause he’s a fuc**ng joke.”
Anything that LeBron does cause he’s a fucking joke.

@moviegoing27 went further back, posting, “JR Smith untying shoes,” a callback to Smith loosening Shawn Marion’s sneakers during a free throw.
Meanwhile, @MYbusiness4422 kept things recent, sharing a clip of Josh Hart’s chaotic move on Jalen Brunson during the NBA Cup celebration.
As the league keeps evolving, fans continue to prove they remember more than just box scores. The NBA’s funniest moments often come from personalities, timing, and pure chaos — and those are the clips that never really fade.
