NBA fans are reacting to Austin Reaves bringing the heat to the Lakers, with one reporter even comparing his era to that of Jeremy Lin, which was popularly known as Linsanity. While the comparison itself is pretty commendable since Lin was an incredibly powerful player in his time, many fans believe that such a comparison is unwarranted since Reaves’ numbers are off the charts.

Many fans felt Dave McMenamin was off his rocker; he compared Reaves to Lin, with several going to mock the reporter for such poor wording. While Lin was responsible for bringing a wave of new fans to the league itself, Reaves has been churning out more impressive numbers for the Lakers on court.

“This week is reaching Linsanity levels for Austin Reaves. Let the Reavesvolution continue. He hits the game winner at the buzzer to lift L.A. to 116-115 victory in MIN. 28 pts and 16 ast on the night.” Dave McMenamin tweeted, comparing Reaves to Lin.

“Linsanity? Reaves is 10X the player Lin was” one fan called out McMenamin.

“or Ronald Flip Murray?!?! C’mon man this is anything but. Maybe him burying the Mavs in his rookie year with a game winner would requisite such a comparison. Austin has been ‘HIM’ since taking out the Warriors a couple years ago.” Another fan said.

“please STOP this non-sense Dave Mcmenamin! he’s no Jeremy Lin type of player! gaddam man! STOP!” another angry fan echoed.

NBA Fans Feel Reaves Was Disrespected By Linsanity Remarks

NBA fans are not going to forgive Dave McMenamin for comparing Austin Reaves to Jeremy Lin. Fans have been going after the reporter ever since he made the remarks, trolling him for the dumb comparison while also highlighting the stark differences between the two players.

“C’mon man, calling it Linsanity is straight up disrespectful. Austin has been Him practically from the jump. This is the natural evolution of his game.” one fan said.

“Linsanity was during a month stretch in a lockout shortened season. Austin has been a baller hitting game winners since his rookie year. We expected better out of you Dave than to compare the two.” another fan pointed out.

“There ain’t no linsanity run Dave. He averaged 20/5/5 as a 3rd option to LeBron, AD and LeBron and Luka. He just taking this opportunity to become first option. AR as first option would easily be an All-Star” one more fan echoed.

Austin Reaves has been shutting up critics ever since he kicked off his career and has been ballistic in his numbers especially this season. While comparing Reaves to one of LA’s best players, Lin, might have seemed like a great idea, McMenamin should have thought better since ‘Linsanity’ only lasted a short span of time.
