It didn’t take long for NBA fans to notice that Anthony Davis looks a bit bigger these days — and they’re having fun with it online.
Before the Mavericks’ home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Davis joined his teammates for shootaround. The star forward is still recovering from a calf injury, but what caught attention wasn’t his jumper — it was his size.

Photos and clips from the court quickly circulated, with many fans joking that Texas cuisine might’ve gotten the best of him.
One fan wrote, “Texas food man, it will get you every time.”

Another added, “You know what they say… Everyone’s waistline is bigger in Texas.”
A third chimed in, “Good food, big portions… Dallas!”
Davis has missed the last six games, though reports say his recovery is moving in the right direction. Jason Kidd and the Mavs are hoping to have him back on the floor soon — possibly when they take on the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
“They call him Mr Glass”: NBA fans Troll Anthony Davis After New ‘Signature Shoe’ Launch
Even as Davis works his way back to health, the online jabs haven’t stopped. The veteran big man has long dealt with a reputation for being injury-prone, and fans were quick to poke fun once again after a meme page posted a photo of an Aircast boot labeled as his “signature shoe.”

Another added, “Street clothes coming soon.”
A third wrote, “I hear it’ll break easy.”
Since joining the Mavericks in the blockbuster deal that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers, Davis has appeared in only 14 of 46 possible games. Still, when healthy, he’s been one of Dallas’ key contributors — averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists across his five games this season.
Now, fans are hoping “The Brow” can shake off the injury bug and get back to doing what he does best — dominating in the paint instead of trending online.
