NBA fans had plenty to say after the Oklahoma City Thunder dropped a tough 111–109 decision to the San Antonio Spurs, a loss that sent San Antonio through to the NBA Cup final against the New York Knicks.
The ending is what really set people off.
With 1.5 seconds left, Jalen Williams intentionally missed his second free throw, hoping OKC could grab the rebound and fire up a quick bucket to force overtime. Instead, Alex Caruso and Devin Vassell both went after the ball. Vassell made contact, Caruso couldn’t secure it, and the clock ran out.
No whistle.

As the Thunder headed off the floor, cameras caught Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein clearly unhappy with how it played out.
“That bulls**t was a foul,” Hartenstein said.
Caruso followed with, “Fu**ing dumb.”
That frustration didn’t earn much sympathy online. If anything, it fueled the fire.
NBA Fans were quick to point out that OKC often benefits from physical play going uncalled — and they weren’t shy about reminding them.
“Lmfao the Thunder complaining about fouls is peak comedy,” wrote @TheSaurus831.

@danhurleyuconn piled on: “The dirtiest team in the league complaining about fouls.”
Others saw the ending as karma. “After all the shit they get away with, their tears are so incredibly satisfying,” @EthicalHoopz posted.
The league’s Last Two Minute Report later backed the officials, stating that Devin Vassell made “legal contact to Caruso’s hand while it is in contact with the ball,” which justified the no-call.
“The overreacting is crazy”: NBA fans push back on OKC panic
Despite the loss, Oklahoma City remains an absurd 24–2 this season, and plenty of fans weren’t buying the idea that San Antonio suddenly owns them.

After ClutchPoints suggested the Spurs’ win wasn’t a fluke — noting Victor Wembanyama’s impact despite limited minutes — fans quickly pushed back.
“Its called just a bad night of shooting from OKC. It happens. The overreacting is crazy,” said @jdogg4ou.
@BlakeC took a wait-and-see approach: “Lets see how the next two games on the 23rd and 25th go before we jump to conclusions.”
And for @ASmoove114, the bar remains sky-high: “This spurs team has to win a ring before you can even talk about them as a dynasty. yall just say anything.”
One close loss, one loud ending — and a reminder that when OKC slips, everyone’s watching closely.
