NBA fans have poked fun at the potential starter lineup for the Sacramento Kings, now that veteran Russel Westbrook has officially signed with the team.

Over at X, NBA Fans showed humor in discussing a potential starter lineup for the Sacramento Kings, in light of veteran Russel Westbrook signing with the team.

“This is like one of those meme lineups that you get $15 to spend on 5 dudes,” the fan said.

Several other users agreed with the sentiment, with one saying that the budget is even too much for the lineup.

“And you decide to save a few bucks for later,” another fan said.

Russell Westbrook, who has been chosen to the All-Star team nine times, recently signed with the Sacramento Kings under a one-year contract at the veteran’s minimum salary of $3.6 million. He is starting his 18th year in the NBA after taking his time with the free agency process this offseason.

According to sources, Westrbrooks’ previous ties to members of the Kings’ roster and executives aided in the easing of fit and the conversations leading to the signing. The signing also aligns with first-year Kings general manager Scott Perry’s stated goal of establishing a culture of high motor and effort, which is the hallmark of Westbrook’s career.

He comes into the Kings’ organization with an impressive résumé, including the 2017 MVP award, the all-time leader in triple-doubles, climbing over 26,000 points, and other benchmarks that have him in the mix for accolades like surpassing Oscar Robertson as the all-time leading scoring point guard of history, as well as being the first to 10,000 career assists.

NBA Fans React to Rumored Sacramento Kings Starter Lineup Featuring Russel Westbrook

NBA fans over at social media platform X did not mince words in expressing their honest feelings towards the rumored starting lineup of the team for the coming season, now that veteran Russel Westbrook has signed with the team.

For some fans, the combination of the proposed starter lineup did not sound convincing, as they highlighted a number of weak points in the combination.

“Russ and Dennis might be fighting each other for the ball every possession,” one fan said.

One fan, meanwhile, criticized the lack of varied roles in the proposed lineup.

“Why would 2 PGs and 2 SGs be your starting four with ONE big man?” they said. “Come on now.”

With these things said, others doubt that the lineup would collect many wins throughout the season.

“Since we’re shooting 21% in preseason, I’m going to say 3, possibly 10 games if the NBA really hones in on its time management,” one fan predicted.

As the regular season opens, NBA fans are keeping a close eye on how Rissel Westbrook’s veteran experience can make or break the Kings.
