NBA fans are throwing shade at Shaquille O’Neal after he commented on the illegal gambling case which names a number of NBA players and coaches. Shaq discussed this in a recent episode of ‘Inside the NBA’ and basically stated that he was ashamed of these players for taking part in such activities. Of course, these comments by Shaq didn’t sit well with many fans, some who called it hypocrisy.

“All these guys knew what was at stake and I’m just ashamed that they put themselves and their family and the NBA in this position. We all know the rules, we all know the letter of the law and it’s just fortunate. Innocent until proven guilty, but usually when the FBI has something, they have you. They’ll wait two, three, four, five years, but when they come knocking on your door, they have something. We all know the letter of the law when it comes to gambling and sports gambling and I don’t want to sit up here like I’m some perfect guy…Every now and then, when I go to Vegas, I’ll play some craps and I’ll play some roulette but I never gambled at anyone’s house. Don’t know anything about poker. I’m ashamed that those guys would put their families and their careers in jeopardy. There’s an old saying in the hood – ‘all money ain’t good money’.” Shaquille O’Neal said.
Shaq:
“I know Chauncey Billups and Damon Jones very well. I’m ashamed that those guys would put their families and careers in jeopardy. If you’re making $9 million a year, how much more do you need?” pic.twitter.com/6iokHUxq1z

“Shaq trying to fly under the FBI radar” one fan hilariously stated.
“Look who is talking” another fan joked, sharing pictures of Shaq promoting betting apps.
“Guy that advertises every product imaginable has something to say about rich people trying to make more money.” one more fan added.

NBA fans continued to remind Shaquille O’Neal that he himself has promoted several betting platforms, while also taking part in advertisements for many brands and products over the years. Some also reminded him of his past, where he played poker.

“I respect his take but don’t know nothing about no poker… (monocle emoji)” one fan said, sharing a picture of Shaq playing poker.

“Is Shaq really the one saying this?” another fan joked.
“Says the guy who pops out as DJ Diesel” yet another fan pointed out.
Shaq has been pretty popular on TV, even after he retired from the hardwood floor. The legend is often seen in ads and promotional videos. While these are acceptable, fans did not like it when he mocked the players accused of illegal betting, of being too greedy for money.
