Following the Warriors’ 136-131 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, supporter Justin Dutari emailed Lacob, saying the team needs a “real second option,” that Jimmy Butler’s “tools are being underutilized,” and blaming the roster’s lack of size. NBA Fans lost it.
A reply appeared under Lacob’s name: “You can’t be as frustrated as me. I am working on it. It’s complicated. Style of play. Coaches desires regarding players. League trends. Jimmy is not the problem.” Dutari later posted the exchange on Reddit, but the Warriors confirmed Lacob had not sent the response.
Kerr brushed off the controversy. “Not a big deal,” he said. “Not concerned about anything like that… Joe supports me. I support him.”
Fans, however, weren’t satisfied.
@vgalan01 blasted Kerr’s rotations: “This dude wants to scolds people politics but he can’t even do his job… Like Gui Santos doesn’t play, why? While Podz plays at least 20 more minutes than he should.”

Others predicted his exit.
@Zangbeto_Gids wrote, “‘coaches desires regarding players’, Oh it’s over…Get ready to host NBC’s Halftime show buddy!”
Meanwhile, @david_kenah offered a blunt take: “Translation: ‘he’s the boss and he pays my salary, what exactly do you want me to say about the emails?’”
The Warriors, now 13-14, remain stuck in the lower half of the Western Conference.

Adding to the tension, Kerr’s relationship with Jonathan Kuminga has become another flashpoint. One viral comment read, “Jonathan hates you as much as you hate him,” fueling speculation of a personal rift.
Kerr attempted to clarify on 95.7 The Game: “That couldn’t be farther from the truth. We treat all our players with the utmost dignity and respect. All we try to do is win.”
Fans again pushed back.

@iamultramarine accused Kerr of favoritism toward Brandin Podziemski: “Or are you just a big hypocrite who’s lost all his integrity because of your Podz obsession?”
And @jinthirty suggested a trade: “It’s always been about the fit so might as well trade him.
Kerr decided to drop Kuminga from the Warriors’ rotation in the hopes of leading the team back to their winning ways. However, that decision may have just came back to haunt him and the Warriors as they continue to struggle.
