Love seems to be part of the game plan for Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo and Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson, especially after the two opened up about the idea of having kids together. NBA and WNBA fans, of course, couldn’t resist joking about it once the interview hit the timeline.
In their sit-down with TIME, Wilson didn’t hide how serious she is about their future.

“That is always a dream. This is my life partner,” she said. “Honestly, what on earth was my world before you? That’s how much he’s impacted my life.”

The moment had plenty of fans gushing, but a few couldn’t help throwing in some humor.
@FT_Merchant05 joked that Bam already has a son in the league: “Bam already had a kid named Jayson Tatum.”
Others went straight to basketball genetics, with @ppemployee writing, “DA WEMBY STOPPER IS OTW.”
And @BIGO356 imagined the future recruit as a full-blown mismatch nightmare: “That kid finna be a freak of nature.”
Adebayo and Wilson first connected during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, and since then, the two have been open about their relationship, their work, and how much they’ve grown with each other.
“She be practicing with one of the NBA’s top defenders”: NBA fans react to Bam Adebayo pushing A’ja Wilson
Even with all the softness between them, Adebayo doesn’t exactly take it easy on Wilson when they train together. Wilson admitted in the same interview that Bam sometimes forgets she’s not dealing with NBA-level size and strength in the W.

“I’m like no one in our league can do that,” Wilson said. “I get mad at times and I’m like ok, now be a WNBA, don’t do that.”
Bam, naturally, had his own version of the story.
“She fails to mention I block that sh*t into the 2nd row.”
Fans had a field day with the dynamic.
@tbprime28 pointed out why Wilson is such a problem on the court: “She deadass be practicing w one of the NBA’s top defenders, no wonder she melts peoples face off in the WNBA lol.”
@The_CoDEFi loved the competitive balance in their relationship, adding, “They challenge each other instead of competing against each other. That’s rare.”
And @TopBBALLGuru threw in a quick jab at Bam: “No wonder Bam be acting like a WNBA player on the heat sometimes. Bro be forgetting to switch back.”

Wilson enters next season as the WNBA’s most decorated active star with four MVPs and three championships. Adebayo, meanwhile, remains one of the league’s premier defenders with multiple All-Defensive honors and two Olympic gold medals. Together, they might just be building the next great basketball dynasty — on or off the court.
