Steph Curry got the ire of the NBA fans after his comments about the ongoing anti-ICE protests in Memphis came after their 111-85 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Originally scheduled for a showdown on Saturday, the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Timberwolves were moved to Sunday due to safety concerns as the ongoing tension among protesters and ICE agents filled the city of Memphis.
However, for Steph, these protests are something that caught his eye.
“In negative 10 degree weather, it was beautiful to see that turnout. Speaks to how important it felt to those people to have their voice heard, and in those elements,” said Curry.
While the four-time NBA champion admired the courage shown by the protesters, NBA fans gave him a piece of their mind.

@GurmutP added, “Same guy who endorsed Kamala BTW.”
Meanwhile, @BadBackMatt offered Curry a piece of advise, saying, “He should stick to just throwing a ball around.”
The backlash didn’t seem to affect Curry on the court.

He led the Warriors to a comfortable win, finishing with 26 points while also reaching a personal milestone.
Curry passed John Havlicek for 20th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list and is now tied with Paul Pierce for 19th at 26,397 career points.
“This is why he played a**”: NBA fans react to Steph Curry’s kicks against Minnesota
While others focused on his comments after the game, NBA fans had their eyes on Steph Curry’s shoes against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Still in his sneaker-free agency, Curry was seen wearing the Adidas Crazy Energy+, which had NBA fans split.

@chillonmura harshly said, “So this why he played a**, these ugly a** shoes.”
Meanwhile @Ophawks1 admired it, saying, “Ngl eye catching. Just like the lamelo Ball dexters.”
And @Perc777_ added, “these look like the GT Futures with a Adidas symbol.”
Between his comments, his performance, and even his shoes, Curry managed to give NBA fans plenty to argue about — both on and off the court.
