While fans admired him for this, a lot of people believe that he still deserves to be paid more, especially with the value he has brought to the Lakers so far this season.

Another fan gave a deeper analysis and explained how he can get paid more without any effort.
“Long term deal is best, and if he’s willing to take 30m a year to help the team he’s worth that and more,” they said. “Other teams that need a guard would be willing to pay him 40m easily.”
Recently, Reaves said he is focused more on team success than squeezing out every dollar on his next contract, according to sources familiar with his thinking. Reaves and his agents have been in talks with the club after the season, but league figures stress he understands market ranges and is not “obsessed” with getting the maximum possible deal.
The Lakers reportedly offered a four-year, $89 million extension in offseason talks, and sources describe conversations between Reaves’s camp and Lakers leadership that included franchise decision-makers and coach JJ Redick.
