Bronny James may have finally found his footing, as NBA fans are starting to like what they’re seeing from him in the G League.
Still searching for consistency and real game reps, James has continued to log minutes with the South Bay Lakers, and Saturday’s 125–121 win over the Memphis Hustle showed real signs of progress.
The play everyone talked about came in the second quarter. Bronny went up and hammered home a game-tying dunk, and yeah, it looked a little like his dad. More than anything, it looked confident. Something fans haven’t seen consistently yet.
Reactions were mixed, as usual.
@QB2Good summed up the middle ground: “He too good for Gleague but not yet NBA confident….like a weird middle ground.”

Others weren’t ready to ease up.
@Glitchymagic said, “Pressure’s on. Gotta show he’s earned it, not just given it.”
@lavishgoat asked the obvious: “Why he can’t do this consistently in the nba 🫠 he got potential.”
South Bay needed him. The game stayed close, and when things tightened up late, Bronny was part of the answer. He finished with 20 points and hit a couple of baskets when Memphis started pushing back.
“He just needs confidence”: NBA fans offer support for Bronny James after career-high night
Bronny’s performance didn’t go unnoticed, as NBA fans quickly rallied behind him following his best outing of the season.

Against the Hustle, James posted a season-high 20 points, helping South Bay survive an overtime battle. He also scored the Lakers’ 123rd point, a crucial bucket that helped seal the win.
With the stat line came encouragement.
@FickDan pinpointed the issue: “he literally just needs confidence… he has NONE when hes inserted into the main squad.”
@LuthfinWarriors urged patience: “Bro should stay in gleague until he find himself.”
And @LONDO87540615 kept it simple: “Got the W in OT. Not bad.”

For now, the G League appears to be the right space for Bronny James — a place to build confidence, stack minutes, and remind everyone that development doesn’t always move on a straight line.
