Klay Thompson found himself trending again, and NBA fans wasted no time clowning him after his latest tribute to girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion. In a recent Instagram dump, Thompson slipped in a photo of a boat labeled “SS Stallion,” a not-so-subtle nod to the Grammy-winning rapper. Once fans spotted it, the jokes came flying in.
One wrote, “He puts more effort into his relationship than into his basketball season.”
Another added, “I hope the boat lasts longer than the average celeb couple.”
A third said, “Klay really said ‘if she’s a Stallion then I’m riding in style’.”

Klay and Megan have gone public for a while now — posting together, attending events, and sharing boat days long before this viral moment. Even so, some NBA fans think he might want to channel that same energy into helping the Mavericks, who’ve hit a rough stretch and badly need a spark.
“Man truly believes his power comes from the ocean”: NBA fans react to Klay Thompson’s 20-point night
Klay Thompson was originally listed out for the Mavericks’ matchup against the LA Clippers, but a quick jump into the Los Angeles waters apparently changed everything. Dallas pulled out a 114-110 win, and afterwards, Klay explained how he pushed through the soreness.

“To be honest, I jumped in the ocean… Anytime you touch the earth, it just gives you energy… I said, ‘I know I’m sore, but this is when your character is revealed.’”
His comments, along with the performance, earned plenty of reactions.
One fan said, “I knew it. That man truly believes his power comes from the ocean.”

Another added, “To all the geniuses saying ‘what ocean in Dallas,’ they were in LA on a back to back and after he got his ocean energy he scored like 17 in the 4th to put away Clippers.”
A third wrote, “Yeaaaaaaah…and a good home cooked meal has a way of greasing down the limbs! Go Klay!!”
Thompson finished with 23 points in just 26 minutes, becoming the player with the most games in league history posting 20+ points with 2 or fewer free-throw attempts. The Mavericks wrap up their four-game road trip on Monday against the Denver Nuggets.
