Giannis Antetokounmpo can try to shrug it off, but NBA fans aren’t letting the New York Knicks rumors fade that easily.
Earlier this week, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that the Milwaukee Bucks and Knicks discussed a possible trade centered on the two-time MVP over the summer. Nothing materialized before training camp, but New York’s interest apparently hasn’t cooled off.

Giannis, though, isn’t having it — at least not right now.
“I believe in my teammates. I’m here to lead this team to wherever we can go and it’s definitely going to be hard. We’re going to take it day-by-day, but I’m here. … I’m locked into whatever I have in front of me.”
He did leave a little window open, though.
“Now, if in six, seven months, I change my mind I think that’s human too,” he said.
And that was all fans needed to start speculating.
“This is when you know she’s cheating.”

“He’s just being honest that folks can change their minds. That ain’t a lack of commitment, it’s just human nature.”
“Bro got that franchise hanging by the balls lmaooo.”
For now, Giannis says he’s locked in on leading Milwaukee back to contender status. But if another playoff disappointment hits, the chatter about him chasing a second ring somewhere else will only grow louder.
“NBA Media is Truly Cooked” — NBA fans Blast ESPN Over Giannis Talk
The conversation didn’t stop there. On NBA Today, Kendrick Perkins added fuel to the fire with a bold prediction:
“I’m about 100% sure, and this is just me assuming, this is just coming straight from Perk, no sauces, that we will not see Giannis Antetokounmpo in a Bucks uniform at the end of this season.”

That didn’t sit well with fans.
“We are on the cusp of a new season and this is what NBA Today is worried about? NBA media is truly cooked,” one said.

“You too Perk? Man ESPN is just trash hot takes anymore.”
Milwaukee even re-signed Thanasis Antetokounmpo to keep family close, but that alone might not be enough. Giannis is still in his prime — and if the Bucks can’t give him a real shot at another title, he might eventually look for one somewhere else.
