NBA fans are reacting to the news of Olivier Rioux becoming the tallest player in the history of college basketball. Rioux towers over everyone in the room at a whopping 7’9” and recently made his NCAA debut for Florida with just 5 minutes left in the game against North Florida.

If Rioux does get picked by the NBA soon, he will easily become the tallest player in the history of the league. Rioux played only for a couple of minutes but did not score for the Gators in his debut game.

“7’9” freshman Olivier Rioux is the tallest player in college basketball history (stunned face emoji)” SportsCenter tweeted.

“and still a freshman, bro gonna be 8ft tall next year” one fan predicted.

“Which country or gene pool did he come from to end up a 7’9” walking giraffe? (giraffe emoji, laughing with tears emoji)” another fan mocked.

“Whoa, this guy’s the ultimate secret weapon. All I can think of is what his parent’s grocery bill must have been like.” another fan pointed out.

Fans are not just making hilarious jokes about Rioux’s height, but also coming up with some interesting observations. While height definitely does give a baller some pretty decent advantage, there are numerous other factors that create the ultimate hooper, including agility, flexibility, and being able to stay free of injuries for a long period of time.

NBA Fans Continue To React To Olivier Rioux’s Ridiculous Height

NBA fans are busy showing off their creativity when it comes to Olivier Rioux’s height. Several are genuinely curious about the player’s actual basketball skills, since nothing much was seen in his debut appearance for Florida.

“Only problem is he’s not very good. I think Florida brought him in thinking they could develop him. He came in as a 3* and I haven’t seen anything that signals that he will ever contribute at Florida.” one fan interestingly noted.

“He’s not just the tallest player in history, he’s also the only college student who has to duck for every single doorway, sleep with his feet hanging off the bed, and pay extra for legroom on the team bus. The struggle is real, even at 7’9” another fan joked.

“Wemby better be on the look out” yet another fan tagged Victor Wembanyama.

Still, many fans felt sympathetic for the tall player, since a major height difference can come with a load of health struggles, apart from other challenges. Fans will be interested to see how Rioux performs in the upcoming games.
