NBA Confirmed Correct Foul Call in the Warriors-Rockets Cup Game, Following a Loss for the Golden State Team

The Houston Rockets captured a 91-90 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. However, during the final seconds of the game, a foul was called on Golden State and it gave Houston a chance to add two points and win the game,

Following their contest, head coach Steve Kerr criticized the officiating and believed the call wasn’t correct.

“That is unconscionable,” Kerr said. “I mean, I don’t even understand what just happened.”

Kerr thought the call should’ve been for a jump ball.

“Our guys battled back, played their (expletives) off and deserved to win that game or at least have a chance for one stop at the end to finish the game,” he said. “And that was taken from us by a call that I don’t think an elementary school referee would have made. Because that guy would have had feel and said: ‘You know what I’m not going to decide a game on a loose ball 80 feet from the basket.’”

Unfortunately for Kerr, the league stood by their initial call. According to the “Last Two-Minute Report,” forward Jonathan Kuminga reached over Rockets’ Jalen Green, creating unnecessary contact “in an attempt to get to the ball and pulls his shoulder down.”

While Kerr wasn’t happy about the call the officials made during the final moments of the game between the Warriors and Rockets, the league confirmed there were two missed calls in the game. However, the calls didn’t pertain to the loose ball foul that Golden State’s head coach complained about.

The L2M Report states that Dillon Brooks of the Rockets ought to have been called for the defensive three-second violation at 1:41. Golden State’s last possession is another missed call by the officials. With 1.9 seconds remaining in the game, guard Brandin Podziemski should have been called for a five-second inbounds violation.

With the Warriors’ loss against Houston, they’ve officially been eliminated from the Emirates NBA Cup.

Golden State had a great year for the In-Season Tournament with a 3-1 record. However, the youthful Rockets team was too much for the California-based team.
