Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has missed five straight games due to a left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain. Despite his absence, the Warriors have a respectable 3-2 record in their recent stretch. However, the team will need the superstar soon, as the 2025-26 NBA season gets tougher. On Monday, Golden State had a positive update on Curry’s potential return.
The Warriors icon has appeared in 16 games, averaging 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists. Amid his recovery from his injury, the team reported that Curry has begun individual work during Golden State’s three-game road trip. There is a chance that the four-time champion will be back with the team on Wednesday.
The next game for the Warriors will be a one-game homestand against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The team has enough time to assess whether the star point guard will be ready before the contest.

On Sunday, ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel said that Steph Curry is making “good progress” in his recovery.
“The Warriors say Stephen Curry was re-evaluated and is making good progress from his left quad contusion,” the NBA insider reported. “Curry has started individual workouts and could participate in segments of the team practices back home on Wednesday. Right now, it looks likely he’ll be back on Friday.”

The Warriors are eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 13-10 record. Without their best player, Golden State has struggled and requires a major contributor on offense.
Brandin Podziemski joined Steph Curry in franchise history

Without the main stars, their bench had to do most of the heavy lifting on offense. On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors beat the Chicago Bulls 123-91. The team was without Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler. However, they worked as a team and were led by Brandin Podziemski.
Podz had 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals off the bench. His performance against the Bulls earned him a spot in the Warriors’ franchise history. The 22-year-old became the second player to record multiple career games with at least 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five made three-pointers.

He joined Curry in the history books and helped the Warriors win. Without the stars, the team needed someone to step up and Podz did what the group expected of him.
Podz has appeared in 25 games, averaging 12.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists on 39.8% shooting from deep.
