Things have not gone well for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2025-26 NBA season. With a 6-19 record, the team has not performed to its expectations. Before the start of the campaign, Los Angeles was expected to be a playoff team. With James Harden and Kawhi Leonard leading, they believe they have a shot at being a threat in the Western Conference.

Regretfully, the team has encountered several issues. A slow start piled on, resulting in their current situation. They also received flak for removing veteran guard Chris Paul from the team. There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

However, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne revealed that the Clippers aren’t planning on giving up. The league insider claims that Los Angeles wants to resume its competitiveness.

“I don’t get the sense that they are thinking about blowing it up. I think they want to get back to being as competitive as they can be. They’ve been a little bit more competitive in these last few games. Their defense has been better,” Shelburne said.

“They are getting better. And I don’t think they’re ready to pull the plug on James Harden or Kawhi Leonard or any of those bigger names. I think it would be something around the margins just to change the vibe a little bit.”

Although Shelburne said that the team has been competitive, it hasn’t resulted in wins. Los Angeles has gone 2-8 in the last 10 games.

Kendrick Perkins believes the Clippers need to “blow it up”

The Clippers’ recent struggles have been one of the main topics around the NBA. Despite having two superstar-caliber players, they haven’t figured things out. Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes that it’s time for the organization to have a reset.

“It’s time to move on from Kawhi Leonard. It’s time for the Los Angeles Clippers to trade Kawhi Leonard. They have been trending downward since they signed him. Look at all they lost. They lost damn near everything,” Perk stated.

Perkins argued that the star is rarely available. His injuries have limited him from being with the team. This season, he has appeared in 15 games, averaging 25.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
