As the NBA free agency started, there have been some talks in the trade market. A few teams have an interest in some of the Miami Heat players. According to insider Jovan Buha, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams that are looking to make a move to potentially acquire a former All-Star from the Heat. Buha revealed that there has been some buzz around the Lakers and Andrew Wiggins in the trade market.
Wiggins was part of the five-team trade that allowed the Golden State Warriors to land Jimmy Butler. The Canadian forward is one of the most productive role players in the league. With the Heat, the forward appeared in 17 games, averaging 19 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
Given how he played for the limited amount of time in the regular season, Miami believes he could generate a lot of attention in the trade market.
However, Buha revealed that the Miami Heat are asking too much from teams inquiring about Wiggins. The media member revealed that there was some talk about the one-time All-Star being linked to the Lakers. But L.A. believes the asking price is too steep.
“There was some Andrew Wiggins buzz a few days ago, but I’ve heard the asking price for Miami was pretty high,” Buha said. “We’re talking basically everything or close to everything that the Lakers could offer from a top asset standpoint. So, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
“I don’t think the Lakers are trading Rui [Hachimura], a first [round pick] and Dalton [Knecht] for Andrew Wiggins. It’s not fair… I think Miami’s playing hardball and we’ll see if they soften their stance.”

After trading away Butler, the Heat are looking for a new star forward who could be part of the star trio with Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.
Jonathan Kuminga is among the Miami Heat’s offseason targets
One of the top stories in free agency this year is the future of Jonathan Kuminga. The 6-foot-8 forward is a restricted free agent and has yet to receive a contract offer from the Warriors. However, the Miami Heat have reportedly made a move to meet with Kuminga.
“Miami has bypassed setting up a meeting with Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga & did not aggressively pursue him in the first hour of free agency. There has been contact between the parties, but no aggressive Heat pursuit as of this point,” Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang wrote on Monday.

Kuminga has shown potential to become a star in the league in the past. However, he hasn’t gotten a lot of chances with the Warriors. Additionally, Golden State landed Butler, who plays the same position. With the six-time All-Star, the 22-year-old forward isn’t getting a lot of playing time.
