Just recently, Drake said that he’d pull down any banner dedicated by the Toronto Raptors for All-Star wing DeMar DeRozan. This led former NBA guard Lou Williams to call the musician selfish after disrespecting the Sacramento Kings star.

During a recent game between the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, the rapper took the opportunity to throw some playful jabs at DeRozan. The incident unfolded during a break in the action, where Drake, a longtime Raptors supporter, used the moment to express his views on DeRozan’s performance and his legacy with the team.

DeRozan, who played for the Raptors from 2009 to 2018, has been a fan favorite and is known for his strong scoring ability and work ethic. His transition to the Kings this season has sparked various discussions about his impact and contributions to both franchises.

In response to Drake’s comments, DeRozan maintained his composure, highlighting his commitment to the game and the respect he holds for his fans, including Drake. The exchange showcased the blend of sports and celebrity culture, where personalities from different realms intersect during high-stakes games.

As the season progresses, both DeRozan and the Kings will seek to prove their critics wrong, aiming for success in the competitive Western Conference. Meanwhile, Drake will likely continue to support his Raptors, keeping the interaction between music and sports vibrant and entertaining for fans everywhere.

Williams made his thoughts about Drake known recently. This can be seen in a video shared by Run It Back on its official X account.

Williams recently weighed in on Drake’s comments about DeRozan, suggesting that the rapper’s remarks were somewhat selfish. He questioned whether Drake’s focus was truly on DeRozan’s contributions to the Toronto Raptors or more about his own affiliations with the team.

Ultimately, Williams’ perspective encourages a deeper reflection on loyalty and respect within the sports community, reminding fans that behind the glamour, there are real emotions and histories at play.
