NBA fans were a spoiled bunch Tuesday night. After Stephen Curry went off for 52 points to help the Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 134-125, they saw Nikola Jokic explode for a career-high 61 points before the end of the evening, albeit in a Denver Nuggets loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Ringer founder Bill Simmons surely had something to say about the incredible performances of Curry and Jokic, who have five NBA Most Valuable Player awards between them.
“Curry and Joker are gonna retire someday so just remember April 1 2025 and how [expletive] awesome today was,” Simmons shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
It was indeed a night to remember, one that fans will continue to talk about for a long time. The results of both games will fade away in the memories of those who watched them but not the masterpieces that Curry and Jokic painted in those respective outings.
Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic were simply sensational on Tuesday

Curry showed that there was plenty of gas left in his tank, as he repeatedly pummeled the Grizzlies’ defense.
The four-time NBA champion, who just turned 37 years old last March, made 16 of his 31 attempts from the field and also hit 12 of his 30 attempts from the 3-point area.
He was able to stretch the floor and give Memphis all sorts of defensive problems, with the likes of Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green capitalizing on the space. Butler had 27 points on 7-for-12 shooting while Green had a triple-double of 13 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.

Speaking of which, Jokic had a triple-double himself against the Timberwolves, but one that dwarfs Green’s. The 30-year-old Jokic scored a career-high 61 points, grabbed 10 boards and dished out 10 dimes versus Minnesota.
Unfortunately for the Nuggets, they still ended up losing in double overtime to Anthony Edwards and company via a score of 140-139.
For what it’s worth, Stephen Curry and the Warriors will host Jokic and the Nuggets on Friday at Chase Center in San Francisco.
