Former NBA No. 1 Pick Declares Lebron James As Greatest Just By the 4 Years He Played – ‘You Tell Me Who is Better?’

The NBA Greatest of All Time debate only goes down between Michael Jordan and Lebron James. For Greg Oden, the four years King James played for the Miami Heat alone is enough for him to declare him as the NBA’s GOAT.

For many, this is a controversial since there are people who argue for Michael Jordan’s case.

Oden, the no. 1 overall pick of 2007, played in one of those four years of the Heat-Lebron era. James is now with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The comment about GOAT debate were made during his guesting in Gilbert Arenas’ podcast Gils Arena Show.

As a former teammate, he was asked by the hosts what he was most impressed with about the four-time MVP. He mentioned Lebron’s ‘dedication to defense’ but he immediately turned it into a GOAT debate.

“Take that four year LeBron James and you tell me who is better?!”

“I didn’t think as the greatest player on the planet he would give that dedication to defense,” he said.

Arenas appeared astounded by the first part of his sentence by Oden only doubled down on his GOAT take.

I said Miami Heat Lebron James was the greatest player I’ve ever seen play a game of basketball. When they put that black mask on I swear to God, I was like ‘hold on, this is a different human being’.

This is definitely a human being. He was a created player. Sorry. I saw him do stuff. Like people dont’ believe me. I saw him the man dunk from the free throw line during practice and we was all under the free throw line. [Coach] David Fizdale was like ‘That’s what he do.’

It is amazing that Oden sees those four years as Lebron’s peak because after the Heat, he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers and continued his dominance. He went on to win 2 more NBA titles since the Heat and even beat the greatest regular season team of all time in Golden State Warriros.

Greg Oden is consistent with his Lebron James GOAT take

It is obvious that Oden is biased with his take because he played with James and he never got to play with Jordan. But who isn’t?

The great thing to note about Oden though is that he is a consistent James the GOAT advocate.

He first made his selection of King James a week ago.

“That motherf—er was a created player. I am a Michael Jordan guy… But, LeBron James on the Miami Heat is the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball.”
