Phoenix Suns veteran Devin Booker might be seeing his last days with the franchise as an NBA insider predicts his trade should the Suns end this season with a disappointment.
The Phoenix Suns have had a few better seasons compared to this current one. Right now, they stand 11th in the Western Conference, with a record of 27-31. If they finish the season in a disappointing state, NBA insider John Gamabdoro predicted that the front office may consider letting go of veterans like Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, in order to get draft picks that would help them rebuild the roster from the ground up.
“The biggest question now is Booker,” Gambadoro said. “Would Booker want to stay? But if you trade Booker you wouldn’t get as much as you would get for Durant. … So if you wanted to, you could trade Durant and Booker, completely start over, have a bunch of young players in draft pick.”
Awesome convo with @Gambo987 on the state of the Phoenix Suns. We hit a lot of topics:
-Is this really the last run?
-What’s missing from KD teams?
-The possibility that Booker asks out
-Why is Bud not playing Dunn and Oso?
-The fear Houston gets a lotto pick https://t.co/STcf6R9AKC pic.twitter.com/vLBqDPIQXq— Kevin O’Connor (@KevinOConnorNBA) February 25, 2025
“But again, unless you could make a trade with Houston, tanking does not do them no good because Houston has their picks.”
Devin Booker has been playing for the Phoenix Suns since he was drafted 13th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. As of the 2024-2025 season, he has spent 10 seasons with the Suns, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer and a four-time NBA All-Star.

Devin Booker Critical of Memphis Game Officiation: “Just The Consistency”
Devin Booker has been critical of the game officiating during their most recent face-off against the Memphis Grizzlies. Particularly, he criticized how the officiating has called fouls, as it has been an instrumental factor that turned the tide for that particular game.
“I still think we had opportunities to win the game,” Booker said after the Suns’ loss to the Grizzlies. “Makes it hurt that much worse, but I think a poorly officiated game throughout tonight. Just the inconsistency. Not saying one thing is a foul or the other, but if it’s a foul on the other end, you just keep it consistent.”
