The 2025-26 NBA season is here and fans couldn’t be more excited. The Oklahoma City Thunder will attempt to defend their title against 29 other teams hungry for their turn. One of those teams, the Miami Heat, have a sideline reporter who has gone viral.

Fans erupt when stunning NBA sideline reporter Trish Christakis is identified

When the NBA’s 2025-26 season began, CBS News Miami reporter Trish Christakis captured plenty of attention:
Christakis, a University of Illinois graduate, became a fan favorite during the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs. She shared a photo of her covering the Miami Heat that received over 11.6 million views and 119,000 likes on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“Trish is originally from the Chicagoland area and is thrilled to join the incredible team of journalists in beautiful South Florida. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign majoring in Journalism,” her bio for CBS News Miami states.
“Trish is an award-winning sports anchor and reporter. Some of her favorite events/stories she’s covered include: the NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, March Madness, MLB Draft, and watching countless high school athletes hoist their state trophy from the sideline.”

Before the NBA season started with the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, Christakis shared a new photo of her on the job.
“In honor of the NBA back tonight & the Lakers playing,” Christakis wrote on X. “Throwback to my first season covering the Heat when they played the Lakers! Can’t wait for tonight.”
Once again, Christakis has received plenty of love on social media.
This post from Christakis received over 170,000 views in less than six hours.
It won’t be long before Christakis turns heads on the court.After all, the Heat will begin their 2025-26 season Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.
Tipoff for the Heat-Magic game is set for 7 p.m. ET.
