The New Orleans Pelicans pulled off a massive trade on Friday night. This came in the form of a blockbuster deal with the Atlanta Hawks that will now see Dejounte Murray take his talents to New Orleans.

For their part, the Pels will send Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels, and two future first-round picks for the former All-Star point guard.

After just two seasons in Atlanta, Murray will now move on to his third team in the last three years. The 27-year-old did not exactly find ultimate success during his time with the Hawks, which could explain why Murray’s totally hyped now that he gets a fresh start in New Orleans.

Murray took his excitement to X, formerly Twitter, shortly after the trade was made public:

The Pels gave up a major haul in order to secure the services of the former Washington standout, which is a clear indication of how they want to compete for a title in the upcoming season. For his part, there’s no denying that Murray is all in on that notion.

In two seasons in Atlanta, the 6-foot-5 combo guard averaged 21.5 points on 46.2 percent shooting, to go along with 5.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.4 steals, while also knocking down 2.6 triples per game on a 36.3 percent clip.

Murray will now take his talents to the Pelicans where he is slated to start alongside Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, and Brandon Ingram. The Pels are going to be a problem this season.
