The New Orleans Pelicans dropped to a 0-3 record, following their 122-90 home loss against the Boston Celtics last Monday, and Zion Williamson’s absence is a key reason why.

The New Orleans Pelicans forward was ruled out due to a left foot bone contusion, which he sustained after his putback dunk against the San Antonio Spurs last Friday, and fans are concerned because of his extensive injury history. However, Williamson recently downplayed the severity of his injury.

“Right now, we’re day-to-day with it. Nothing major. Nothing that’s going to keep me out a long time,” Williamson told Will Guillory of The Athletic.

“Unfortunately, it’s part of the game,” New Orleans Pelicans head coach Willie Green said. “Sometimes you deal with that as a team. The biggest thing you can do is be consistent as a leader.”

New Orleans Pelicans News: Willie Green calls out the team’s “disappointing” effort in loss vs. Boston Celtics

New Orleans Pelicans head coach Willie Green was not in a good mood following their latest loss, as he felt that they were badly outplayed by the Boston Celtics, whom he felt played with a bigger sense of urgency.

“Disappointed… It’s one thing to not win a game. It’s a whole other thing to get punked on your home floor. I’m a part of that. It’s not just our guys, it’s all of us,” Green said via Pelicans Film Room.

“They just took the fight to us. They were a tougher team. Mentally tougher than we were. Physically tougher… We gotta take more pride in how we approach the game,” he added.
