The New Orleans Pelicans ended their nine-game skid with a 143-130 win against the Chicago Bulls, and Zion Williamson’s on-court return was the catalyst behind the home victory.

Williamson tied a season-high 29 points while shooting 8-for-14 from the field and 13-for-16 from the free throw line in 30 minutes of action. After the game, the two-time NBA All-Star discussed his performance, which drew praise from his coach.
“I felt great tonight. Minutes restriction is frustrating, but I will make it happen with the minutes I have,” Williamson said via Pelicans Film Room on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“He was out for (8 games). He’s trying to find his rhythm with this team again… I love his aggression. He played with great spirit and fight,” interim head coach James Borrego said of Williamson via Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com.

After a 2-10 start, the New Orleans Pelicans replaced Willie Green with James Borrego, and Borrego needed six games to get his first victory.

“These guys have gone through a lot,” Borrego said via NOLA.com. “You want some validation for all the work you put in, and it’s hard to see progress when you’re not getting wins. Tonight is about validation for the work they’ve put in.”
The New Orleans Pelicans’ offense was clicking against the Chicago Bulls, as they had their season-high in points. And they did it through a balanced effort, as eight players had double-digit points.
