New Suns Player Jalen Green on His Impressive 164 Games in Last 2 Seasons – ‘I Found Out a Program That Worked For Me’

In an era where NBA players choose to do load management. Jalen Green stands above everyone for his durability. The new Phoenix Suns member became a topic in his former team Houston Rockets after their starting point guard Fred VanVleet went down with an ACL injury that will make him the whole 2025-26 NBA season.

Rockets decided to invest in the now by acquiring Kevin Durant and gave up Green and Dillon Brooks in the process.

Some analysts and fans think they the Rockets front office did not consider the fact that the 2021 2nd overall pick was their best scorer and most available one, playing 82 games in each of the last season. Rockets coach Ime Udoka was very praiseful of Green after learning about his usage.

Rockets gone need real internal development offensively. Which they were banking on anyway. But Jalen green being 21 a game while playing 82 games has been undersold imo.

No JG. KD prob won’t touch 82 gms. FVV done for the year. The O could be rough for them on those nights.

Rockets may decline from what they were last year. Traded Jalen Green, their leading scorer who played all 82 games. Now they have no FVV, and I don’t see KD playing more than 60 games. https://t.co/KqIWVXIJEG

Jalen Green got benched less than Amen or Sengun last season.

You are talking about Jalen Green the dude who not only played all 82 games but played the second most minutes per game only behind FVV. He played more minutes per game than Amen or Alpi.

Rockets have no choice but to deal with what’s left.

    Jalen Green on his durability

Green has moved on already from the trade. He said he was not disappointed but just shocked.

“It wasn’t disappointing, it was more shocking. You kinda get over it, especially with the whole situation [with the Suns as] they are excited to have me here. That’s a good feeling.”

He also said that he understands where the Rockets are coming from with their decision since the swap involves a player like Durant. As for his durability, it is now the Suns who will benefit from it.

Green said he was not 100 percent healthy throughout the whole season but he managed to play all the regular season games because he prepared his body and mind for it.

“I found a program that worked for me two years ago and stuck to it,” he told reporters during media day on Friday.

“And part of the mentality, too, is going strong down and playing every night. . . . I had contusions, bruises but that’s when you gotta locked in with your team, they’re gonna make your right and make sure you play every time toy go out there.”

As for his physical regiment, he said that he started lifting heavy over the summer and then do lighter ones in-season.

“I’m just trying to maintain strength, and a lot more treatment,” he continued.

Green joins a team with an established scorer in Devin Booker. This might make him more effective as the team has two guards that can provide the scoring any night.
