Mitchell Robinson was one of the New York Knicks’ unsung heroes in their 124-113 NBA Cup Final win over the San Antonio Spurs. He provided quality minutes off the bench, pinch-hitting for Karl-Anthony Towns, who was playing through a nagging calf injury.
The 27-year-old center came off the bench and contributed four points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks on 2-for-6 shooting from the field in 18 minutes. Robinson also set the record for having the most offensive rebounds in an NBA Cup Final with 10.
“That’s what Mitch does,” Towns said of Robinson via John Flanigan of SNY. “I knew playing against him just how much he impacts the game, to be his teammate now and to see what he does, he’s impacted the game how many times — shoutout to Mitch, hell of a day at the office.”
Besides Robinson, Tyler Kolek and Jordan Clarkson also provided a huge boost off the bench for the New York Knicks, combining for 29 points.

New York Knicks News: Jalen Brunson wins NBA Cup tournament MVP
Jalen Brunson didn’t exactly have his best scoring night against the San Antonio Spurs. However, he still did enough to lead the New York Knicks to NBA Cup glory by recording 25 points, four rebounds, and eight assists on 11-for-27 shooting from the field across a game-high 41 minutes of action.
“A game like this, an environment like this, you don’t really see around the NBA too often,” Brunson said via ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill. “We got to take advantage of the experience that we got here. I mean, those guys will.
OG Anunoby actually led the New York Knicks in scoring with 28 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and five three-pointers on 10-for-17 shooting from the field in 40 minutes, while Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordan Clarkson, Tyler Kolek, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart added 16, 15, 14, 11, and 11 points, respectively.
