Veteran NBA forward PJ Tucker has barely seen action on the course with the New York Knicks in the 2024-25 NBA season but it appears that the team loves having him around enough to be convinced that he’s worth a full-time contract.

The Knicks have inked the 14-year vet to a couple of 10-day contracts and is now reportedly going to be signed to a two-year deal, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

“After two 10-day contracts, the New York Knicks are planning to sign veteran forward PJ Tucker to a two-year deal, sources tell ESPN. Tucker will return to the Knicks through the season and playoffs, with a team option for 2025-26,” Charania shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

Tucker, who will turn 40 years old in May, has appeared in only a game with the Knicks thus far this season. That was during a 120-105 loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs on March 19.

Although his best days are way past him, Tucker brings experience and toughness to the Knicks, who are looking to go on a deep run in the upcoming NBA Playoffs.

A second-round pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 2006 NBA draft, Tucker is a career 36.6 percent shooter from behind the arc and also won a league championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021.
