Big time players show up in big moments. That’s what just transpired between Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards and Denver Nuggets‘ Nikola Jokic when they met on Christmas Day.
Jokic put up one of the best performances on a Christmas game by scoring 56 points and getting 16 rebounds and 15 assists. His 56 is the third highest points Christmas day points behind Bernard King’s 60 in 1984 and Wilt Chamberlain’s 59 in 1961.

Edwards was also sensational as he finished with 44 point, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He also hit the 3-point shot forced the overtime with 1.1 seconds left.
Timberwolves hit the first few shots in the extension but then Jokic multiple threes to put his Nuggets under control. Denver won the game, 142-138.
People are branding this game as an instant classic because of what the two stars displayed..
Forgive me for stating the obvious on this Christmas night. But, regardless of what happens I just want to remind everyone that THIS BROTHER @TheAntMan — Anthony Edwards — is something special to behold. He said he’d drop about 40 when he was interviewed by @ShamsCharania. I’ll…

Another banger between these two teams. The playoff series, the double overtime game of the year last season, tonight, amongst many more. A rivalry built on good hoops.

Anthony Edwards was thrown out and people think it’s wrong
The game is almost perfect to many people. They are even asking for another playoff match up between these two.
It is not perfect because the referees decided to toss out Edwards with 20 seconds to go when the two teams were separated by just one possession.

Ant-man got his first technical when he tried to be playful and disrupt Jokic’s free throw routine. The second one was when he vehemently protested a call. The TFs maybe warranted but for some people, not during this critical stage of the game.

The referees, just like in the last two weeks, are under fire again. Instead of class end game, it is a classic Scott Foster, the controversial NBA referee.
Anthony Edwards *plays fast-paced, ethical basketball and doesn’t intentionally put himself on the line*

Anthony Edwards and Nikola Jokic combined for 100 points
and instead of the game being decided by them we got Scott Foster taking matters into his own hands
amazing representation of the sport

Refs ruined a banger of a christmas game

Scott Foster just decided to ruin an all-time classic. Tosses Anthony Edwards IN OVERTIME. Everything is about him.
— Ben (@TheHurricaneBen) December 26, 2025
And now Anthony Edwards gets ejected because the refs need to make sure they get on TV and ruin the ending of an incredible game.

Scott Foster had to make it about himself after seeing players put on all-time Christmas performances
