Jalen Williams was saying just two weeks ago that the current OKC Thunder will beat the Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls that went 72-10 and the 73-9 Golden State Warriors of 2016. Now, they can’t even beat the San Antonio Spurs who weren’t even in the playoffs last season.
The NBA made a good call to put OKC and San Antonio on a Christmas game with their budding rivalry. The former aren’t too happy probably as the the Spurs just exposed them.
Victor Wembanyama and company just beat the defending champions three times in 12 days. It did not matter where the game is played. First was in Vegas in the NBA Cup semis and the second and third ones were back to back at home and at the Paycom Center. The last two instances were blowout games.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was limited to 22 points in 27 minutes while his Spurs match up De’Aaron Fox fared better with 29 points.
