The Oklahoma City Thunder avenged their lone loss of the 2025-26 campaign with a 122-95 blowout win against the Portland Trail Blazers last night, as every player contributed to the blowout victory.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander may have taken the spotlight with his 37-point performance. However, another player who deserved a shoutout was Ajay Mitchell, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s second-leading scorer with 20 points, four assists, and two steals on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting from the field in 24 minutes off the bench.
“Ajay has been a professional the whole time he has been here. Even when he wasn’t playing. He’s soaked up a lot of information,” teammate Isaiah Joe said of Mitchell via Brandon Rahbar of the Daily Thunder. “He’s just a player.”

As pointed out by Rahbar, Mitchell became the sixth player in Oklahoma City Thunder history to score at least 20 points in a game while shooting perfectly from the field.
Oklahoma City Thunder News: Mark Daigneault is “no longer surprised” with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s high-scoring nights
As mentioned, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced the Oklahoma City Thunder with 37 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals on 13-for-18 shooting from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line. To head coach Mark Daigneault, this is just another day in the office for the reigning league MVP.

“Nothing he does at this point surprises me. But it’s impressive nonetheless,” Daigneault said of Gilgeous-Alexander.
With last night’s victory, the Oklahoma City Thunder improved to a 17-1 record. They will face the Portland Trail Blazers again on the road on Sunday.
