Notre Dame’s senior point guard Olivia Miles talked about the NCAA Tournament, where she and the Fighting Irish got No. 3 seed.
In an interview with Elle Duncan on ESPN, Olivia Miles opened up about her feelings going into the NCAA Tournament.
“Yeah, I mean it was a little bit surprising naturally,” Miles said of the seeding. “You know, when you expect something, and then it doesn’t happen. You know, your first reaction is, “Oh, my gosh.” But, you know, we knew what the job was. You know, we went straight to work, started scouting the team we’re going to be playing.”
Ultimately, Miles showed confidence with where she and the Fighting Irish are, and reiterated that they are “prepared.”
“At the end of the day, you just have to beat your opponent and whoever that may be whatever seed they may be. You know, you have to go through us. So, we are confident and we are prepared.”
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball team earned the No. 3 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament due to their strong overall performance throughout the season.

They finished with a 26-5 record, showcasing their dominance with key wins against top-ranked teams like UConn, Texas, and USC, all of which were No. 1 or No. 2 seeds in the tournament. Notre Dame also carried an impressive NET (NCAA Evaluation Tool) rating of 5 and a Strength of Schedule (SOS) of 8, reflecting their ability to compete against high-caliber opponents.
